10 pointer?? And other musings from the woods

I think that this is what it's called...anyhow, my husband said he saw one last night.

Is it possible that a deer that big was in my tiny Roswell nature preserve?

We also have discovered just how crafty racoons can be. And selective. We have one that gets into the dog food, but will only eat the dark brown pieces. Very strage.

I'm not a hunter but I'm guessing there are some here. I'm thinking your new abode may well be a sanctuary for deer. I know boy scout camps are since no one can hunt in them.

Funny about the Racoon, have you actually seen him??

I'm guessing the deer could be that close. You live in a lovely area, and they would recognize the relative safety.

I just wonder where they go during the day. It's only a half square mile in total land - though the neighboring parts of Alpharetta are quite undeveloped as well.

YES! We have seen the racoon - balsy thing came right up on the porch when my husband was out having a glass of wine.

I keep waiting, but I guess we should bring the food inside. I don't really think having a racoon on the front porch is a good idea.

Nope, I don't think I'd want to get in one's way. They are smart little fellers, don't let him see you take the food in. He'll chew through the door trying to get it. LOL

Yes he could have. But if your not a hunter everything is a 10 pointer :p. Urban Hunting around the ATL produces great deer every year. If you ever need somebody.....Call me!!!

Can't answer your question but I saw an amazing video this morning of a Mother bear opening a garage door to get her baby out. Little guy was stuck in there. Bears in a neighborhood like that is scary.
