Al Franken will not resign from the US Senate.
He is making a whistle stop tour of the state saying that "I may be leaving the senate but I'm not giving up my voice". At the same time, the Democrat leaning Public Policy Poling group released a poll that showed that 50% say he shouldn't leave while 45% say he should.
In other "unrelated news", some poling suggests that former Republican Governor Tim Pawlenty would take the seat from Franken's appointed replacement, Democrat Tina Smith, if the election were held today.
