Will Newsome survive?

Exactly what those of us who voted to get rid of the monster knew... once he survived the recall he would go bat shit crazy with unchecked mandates.

Newsom Bans Lawn Equipment, Golf Carts, & Leaf Blowers In the Name Of Climate Change

This is a stupid law that will cost California dearly. We've all seen the tractors with the big mower decks that cut the grass along side of roads and highways. There are no electric ones made. So how are counties going to mow? What about how trees are trimmed to keep tree branches from hanging over highways?

The Dems in CA must think the people living there are all made of money and can go out and afford to replace all their lawn equipment. I think what you will see is a lot lawn care businesses close shop because they won't be able to afford to replace all their equipment. I remember years ago, a friend of mine bought an electric lawn mower. His lot wasn't very big, but still he needed a lot of drop cords to mow his lawn. It took him a lot longer because he had to keep moving the cord to prevent running over it and chopping it up. It happened to him a few times. Before summer was over, he went back to mowing with his gas mower.

Especially when they can't keep the lights on as it is.

And yet the people in this state truly think he is protecting them.

To meet Newsom’s targets, electricity would also have to increase by 9.5%, which GOP politicians argue that the state would not be able to handle. They have become increasingly reliant on wind and solar power, which has led to rolling blackouts during the summer heatwaves.

“California’s record of rolling blackouts — unprecedented in size and scope — coupled with recent requests to neighboring states for power begs the question of how you expect to run an electric car fleet that will come with significant increases in electricity demand, when you can’t even keep the lights on today,” Environmental Protection Agency Administrator Andrew Wheeler wrote to Newsom in a recent letter.

The National Association of Landscape Professionals even notes that the equipment is both more expensive and less efficient. A gas-powered riding lawn mower costs between $7,000-$11,000 while zero-emissions versions of the equipment can cost up to twice the amount.

Unfortunately the California school system has been taken over by the progressives since the 70's... so no one is afraid of the evil government that Newsom represents... and now he knows it since he survived the recall.

Banning gas-powered generators means people can't even have a backup system when the grid goes down for medical reasons. I don't know if I'd even depend on a Nat Gas generator in CA, I'm pretty sure he's going to screw that system up after he's done with the power companies.

It looks pretty obvious to me what the plan is, drive the electric companies into bankruptcy, then have the state take them over. What he thinks that will solve is beyond me.

Another thought, how the heck do you build a battery powered chain saw that can cut a 100'+ tree? Would you want to climb a tree with that battery? How do you clear the trees from a road after a storm takes out all the power lines? I've got a 40v saw and it was having issues cutting down a 50' dead pine at the hunting club.

I see a lot of people buying gas units in other states and bringing them into CA. And/or a lot of sales of that F-150 Hybrid with the 7200W generator.

The whole thing is wealth redistribution.

Pip dream to hurt capitalisms, and inflict Marxism. Just like Stupid Girl's "Green New Deal" — what they foresee as a massive policy package that would remake the U.S. economy and, they hope, eliminate all U.S. carbon emissions.

Necessarily will hurt the economy and push for money to help with equity because no one can afford it, so of course all your illegal immigrants and POC will get subsidies.

They had an opportunity to take over the electric companies...

State Takeover of PG&E

The real goal of the PG&E takeover appears to be to control the state’s mandated renewable energy goals so PG&E’s bankruptcy does not sell off or shut down the utility’s renewables division. While PG&E is in Chapter 11 bankruptcy, the court has to examine where the financial drains to the company come from (renewables division) and where the profits are. The Bankruptcy court is the one place PG&E could divest itself of the state’s renewables mandates… and California’s Democrats can’t have that.
<snip>
As for state takeover of PG&E, this is reminiscent of Venezuela’s takeover of its oil industry in 1998, when Hugo Chávez was elected president of Venezuela. Within two to three years, Chávez fired nearly 20,000 employees of the formerly private oil company, Petróleos de Venezuela, and replaced them with employees loyal to his gover
nment.
