Genre...I used to hate when people said that word. Sounds French and I think they are bunch of idiots, but anyway...what type of books are your favorite?

You know mine already ;)

Nonfiction (mostly history, old movie & TV stuff), biographies and autobiographies.

I don't have a favorite - I love almost all of them. The only one I don't like is romance. Yuck. Lol

I agree with Mrs. B....don't like romance.

I like true crime, biographies, and mystery. I like some "period drama" books (is there such a thing?). Oh, I also like short stories (of most sorts) as I have difficulty investing my time in reading anything long. Most books don't hold my attention anymore. It's not the books, it's me. I have developed reading ADHD as I've gotten older...lol.

I can't believe I left out true crime, that is a good third of what I read.

Any type that doesn't put me to sleep which narrows the choices down significantly.

I want to say "science fiction", but that started to change in college. I just get too frustrated with what passes for science in most of it. It needs a good story to make up for the science.

Right now I'm reading a lot of John Le Carre, Fredrick Forsythe, and the books about the eunuch in Istanbul that I mentioned. They're all the spy genre, though Mr. Forsythe's books tend to have more action.

Both good authors, but like you, I favor Forsythe.

Non-fiction - most anything. Fiction - most anything except sci-fi (although I will happily read Waski's book if he ever publishes it/lets me).

I like a wide variety, no romance, and I usually stay away from non fiction. Most of the time I do not want to read about someone's life and the true crime freaks me out because it actually happened. I would rather read the thrillers that I know are not real. :)

While there would be quite a bit for you to choose from, the stradial library may not be the best bet for you.
