What did you do on Mother\'s Day?

Let's hear the stories.

"She who adores me" was sick all weekend, so she didn't want to do much. We met Guard Daughter and her hubby for dinner last night; other than that, she laid around all weekend.

Next...

Woke up to a dozen roses and a Reeces candy bar bouquet =), went to church, ate lunch with the inlaws, visited with my mom and back to church.

Whole lotta notta! We watched tv all day and just chilled. I did help marinate chicken, get the corn on the cob ready for the grill and boil red potatoes, then mash them. That is the only energy I exerted yesterday.

We had dinner with the daughter and Grand on Saturday.

My dear loving Husband gave me the entire weekend off from all Mommy duties...
(He cooked, he cleaned, did the laundry, and took care of all the wee one's needs.)

2 whole days of napping on the sofa, watching movies, reading books, and bubble baths.

A brand new pair of my favorite Adidas flip flops,
with a messy homemade card from Baby Bunny.

:love :love :love :love :love

I had an absolutely awesome day!! It started with the princess waking me up and holding my hand as she took me downstairs to show me the beautiful roses and sweet card that she had picked out just for me. On the way to church, she pulled out a little goody bag that she had stashed in the car for me and I got another sweet card, a picture that she drew for me, and Mrs. Fields chocolate chip cookies (her favorite). Went to church (where she made yet another card :D ) and then out to lunch with her, the hubby and MIL.

When we got home, I was given the day off - I enjoyed an afternoon of pampering. I took a nap and then the princess gave me a manicure and a makeover. Her nail painting skills need work, but she was thrilled to paint my nails and put makeup on me and it was a lot of fun and we laughed a lot. For dinner, the hubby was sweet and volunteered to either take us out or reheat leftovers from Saturday night for dinner (after my "makeover," I opted for the leftovers). After dinner, the hubby and princess went to the neighbor's house for awhile and I was able to watch some bad reality TV and just relax.

It was a perfect day and I enjoyed every minute of it!!

Have you noticed a theme here? I do believe the best mothers day gift is the gift of letting us relax. I am pretty certain that all the mommies here do not get to do that very much!

We met 4 of her 5 adult children (well 2 and their spouses) on Marietta Square for brunch and then came back home where I took a nice long 4 hour nap as she cleaned the kicthen and unpacked more kitchen items. Yes, we've been moving for the last 2 weeks (mostly me since she's been at work).

You are so right - I had practically forgotten what it was like to just sit back and relax....

Me and Twinsister went to church with our Mama and took her out to eat. When I came home I found a card with a WM gift card in it from my Step son and DIL. That was sweet of them.
