This position is responsible for operating a water treatment plant in an efficient manner according to established standard operating procedures. Work may involve operating on a rotating shift schedule to provide 24/7 coverage of the plant. Operator has a role in utilizing a CMMS to enter trouble reports and maintenance work. An incumbent in this position may be designated “Water Plant Operator III”, “Water Plant Operator II” or “Water Plant Operator I”.​
