Volkswagen Super Bowl commercial

The Chiefs won a great game in overtime. I was glad to see 49ers coach Shanahan lose.

Anyways, did folks happen to catch the Volkswagen commercial in last night's Super Bowl? They just had to include a lesbian wedding scene.... what does two muff divers have to do with building new cars in Tennessee? NOTHING, yet businesses have to show how woke they are. This makes me absolutely NOT want to buy a Volkswagen.

Even watching regular TV, we're inundated with commercials for Dovato (the HIV medicine) and of course, there's always two grown men all snuggled up. Puke Puke Puke.

I saw the commercial while watching the game. There were quite a few commercials that were pushing the woke agenda.

The commercials were mainly boring as the first half of the game. Only a couple of feel good commercials and a few funny ones. Most fell flat on their face. (At least to us)

At least the game got better as it went on.

I found most of the commercials disappointing. The halftime show was awful. The sound quality was very poor. It sounded like it was coming from somebody's phone. The last decent halftime show was The Who in 2010.

I found out that the entertainers for halftime are not paid to perform. The NFL pays for their travel expenses, and that's it. It's no wonder the halftime performers are those whose popularity has dwindled. I have no idea if Apple Music paid them anything. Most likely, they are willing to do it because 30 million people watched it. Apple Music and Usher are hoping that Usher's music sales will increase after this performance.

Unpopular Opinion (maybe)

I don't think being gay is a choice.

Bear with me here...

However, it's actions that matter. Acting on this sexuality isn't proper or biblical (right?)

I find a lot of women beautiful and appealing, but I would never act on these emotions because I love my wife and honor my marriage to her. -- > Feeling and Emotions vs. Acting on those feelings and emotions

That being said, gay marriage is wrong and promoting it is as well. We're all more than a little tired of having this smack thrown in our faces. I wasn't planning on purchasing a VW (despite their superior mexican workmanship), and I certainly won't now.

If gay isn't a choice, and we're all God's creations, then how can they, as individuals, not be loved ?
I'm not saying it's fair, it's not... a lot of things in life aren't fair.

Actions should be held accountable.

I have a longtime friend who is gay and open about it. But he's also a Christian, and believes that engaging in sexual relations with another man is sinful. So he's chosen to be celibate. I have to respect him for that.

My guess is that inter-racial couples make up less than 10% of marriages and gays make up less than 1% of marriages. I have to question why the approximately 11% (gays as well as inter-racial) are so prevalent in today's marketing advertisements? Why not aim your dollars to target to the 89% of folks who are neither gay nor in an inter-racial relationship? The exception would be the medicines called Devato, etc. that target the demographic most likely to have HIV. I'd also question why is Dovato being advertised on manly shows like Swamp People, Gold Rush, etc. I don't see that target audience watching this type of show but could absolutely see them watching Ru Paul's Drag show as well as MSNBC news.

Back in my younger days when we studied business statistics, economics and "what if" financial scenarios, we'd aim for the most bang for the buck. What would sell us the most product at the lowest marketing budget? I suppose today's colleges and universities throw all that math out the window in order to not get labeled as bigoted, racist, etc. Quite frankly I'm disgusted when I see Dovato ads as well as gay ads.

Sound guy that is the crux of it. It is not necessarily the actual number of people who fit the demographic but the "I am superior to you because I am woke" liberals that will support woke companies without regard to morals or character. I don't believe the woke bunch really believes half of the BS they spout out but sheep feel safer in a herd.

herd of sheep.

The commercial did specifically mention 1942 or that era. Much like Daimler- Benz, BMW, Mitsubishi, Toyota, Mazda, Honda and GM (Opel) to name a few don't really bring it up.
