US General: Half of All Afghan District Centers Under Taliban Control

You guys know that I'm typically VERY supportive of the military, and I normally blame any screw-ups on politicians, because that's usually where they come from.

Regarding the Afghanistan mess, I'm hearing a lot of former military slamming some of the military brass, including but not limited to General Milley. Some of the stuff I'm hearing is that the military brass have sold out to the woke bunch and political correctness, and many feel that this has weakened the troops.

Not having served, I'm no expert on this, but it seems feasible that this wimpy new command could definitely damage the military overall.

Most generals suck. They become political and will stab anyone they can in the back to move ahead. Milley is like that. While serving as Trump's Chairman of the Joint Chief of Staff we saw he was not loyal to his commander-in-chief and took the side of Democrats. He's a political ass kisser like so many other generals we have seen in history and I have seen during my career.

Don't be surprised that once everything starts coming out about the drone strike, we find the intelligence only suspected their target was there and not confirmed he was. Milley supported the drone strike to alleviate some of the heat from Biden, whose ass he now kisses.

Listening to General Milley speak to congress. He has said multiple times that every soldier who served in Afghanistan helped to protect us from terror attacks.

I happen to agree with him on that; I think our presence there kept terrorist groups at bay and prevented them from becoming strong enough to effectively launch large scale terror attacks.

So I have to ask again why we had to cut and run like we did? We have a relatively small force of 2500 there, and we hadn't lost a soldier in almost two years. The cost of leaving, both in dollars and lives, could have "paid" for us to stay there several more years.

Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Mark Milley said Tuesday that he recommended the U.S. keep 2,500 troops in Afghanistan prior to the chaotic military withdrawal last month, appearing to contradict Biden’s statements that he received no such recommendation.

“I won't share my personal recommendation to the president, but I will give you my honest opinion and my honest opinion and view shaped my recommendation. And I recommended that we maintain 2,500 troops in Afghanistan,” Milley said in a hearing before the Senate Armed Services Committee.

The comments appeared to contradict what the president told ABC News' George Stephanopoulos last month, saying he couldn’t “recall” any such recommendation.
