Fixed it for us.

Seriously, we've basically stopped servicing freight shipments into and out of CA. Yes I know it's business and yes we need it (very badly), but the environmental regulations, red tape, liability, and hassle drivers routinely experience by LE in CA isn't worth the trouble it causes us, our carriers, and our customers. To be accurate I should say we haven't completely stopped but our rates are intentional inflated which has the same effect, other companies get the business and that's just fine with me.

Of course now I get notified that a summit is being held in San Francisco at the HQ of the software company that we use. Only positive side is that it is in a nicer part of San Fran away from all the sh*t. But hotel per night is $339 plus taxes. If my company will not foot the bill, I wont be going.

Sounds like a video conference call is in order and would be much more cost effective.

It's been over 10byears since I was there, and there was a large section of town we were told to stay away from. I walked all over that city and even then you would turn a random corner in what was supposed to be a safe part of town and your spidy senses would tingle. There were a lot of junkies and homeless there and the cops just looked the other way. Panhandling was like a sport.
