Traffic Analyst

This position is responsible for conducting traffic studies, analyzing related data, providing day-day supervision and support to the traffic signal and traffic studies personnel, and managing the county’s traffic signal system. An incumbent in this position may be designated “Senior Traffic Analyst.”

Minimum Qualifications:

• Knowledge and level of competency commonly associated with completion of specialized training in the field of work, in addition to basic skills typically associated with a high school education.

• Experience sufficient to thoroughly understand the work of subordinate positions to be able to answer questions and resolve problems, usually associated with one to three years experience or service.

• Possession of or ability to readily obtain a valid driver’s license issued by the State of Georgia for the type of vehicle or equipment operated.

• Knowledge of Federal and State guidelines, policies and specifications for Traffic Signals, such as the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD), and Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) Traffic Signal Design manual.

• Knowledge of the National Electric Code (NEC) and National Electric Safety Code (NESC)

• Knowledge of traffic data collection principles.

• Understanding of a computer system and network components.
