Good game. These actually are the two best teams in the nation. Either one could probably beat any other program in the country. Combined they had beat Bama, Georgia, Auburn, Texas, Florida, Louisville, Oklahoma and Ohio State. This season LSU had one of the best NCAA teams I have ever seen. I have never liked Clemson but I do like Trevor and coach Dabo. Congrats to LSU they had a very good team this season with an awesome QB and a likable hard nosed coach. I am glad the SEC has got the title again it helps recruiting in the whole conference. Go Dawgs.

Happy to see LSU win the game.

imho - If Clemson plays a SEC or a Big Ten schedule every year, they don't make it to the championship round of 4 every year.

They're a great team, no doubt, but could they beat Bama, Auburn, LSU, Georgia.... or Ohio State, Penn State year after year ??

I don't think so.

I admit Bama had an unusually weak schedule this season, mostly because the SEC West was weak as a whole (LSU the exception). Normally it's like running the gauntlet.

Bama is smart about their scheduling.

You won't see them play a power team, at the other team's home field, early in the season.

Bama isn't going to travel to USC or Penn State on week one or two; it doesn't happen.

Also, look at their match-ups the week prior to Auburn every year....

Bama travels to Cowboys Stadium at the start of the 2020 season to play USC. They do schedule some decent out of conference teams early in the season every couple of years. I would think adding an extra conference game instead of a dreaded "cupcake" might make people happier. What a lot of average college football fans dont get it how far in advance these schedules are made. The "cupcakes" want to travel to the big schools as they get PAID! What they get paid by Bama funds their entire football program for the season in most cases. I love better competition and it will get better within the SEC as the new coaches get their stuff in line.

Yeah, college football being over sucks.... At least I get the Braves soon....

It doesn't help when AR, TN, A&M, Ole Miss, and Ms State all suck the same year.

True. Bama travels to Dallas to play a team from Southern California..... and that was kinda my point.
A couple of years ago they traveled to Atlanta for a Kickoff Classic. Both of these games are played at neutral sites.

It's a different thing to travel to Dallas for USC than traveling to LA for a game against SC, played on the left coast. ( I would use playing UCLA at the Rose Bowl as an example..... but UCLA is a terrible program right now.)

Or.... could you see Alabama traveling to South Bend to play Notre Dame the second week of the season? Or for that matter..... a game scheduled in November in the cold. This doesn't happen with Bama's current scheduling.

And yes, if a program like Richmond or App State comes to town.... it's for a payday, no doubt about it.
(like Florida Atlantic traveling to Columbus for a beatdown by OSU.... it happens with all large programs.)
