Wind is amazing and terrifying.

It is odd how objects can punch right through other denser objects under the pressure of a tornado.

Wow. However, in the current market, even with that damage, the truck is probably still worth now more than it was new.
My son is at the end of his 3 year lease of his Toyota truck in November... he is bemoaning the price of trucks since manufactures have run out of the computer parts for them and slowed production.

When he originally told me he was going to get the lease, I said that 3 years goes really quickly, you will just have it broke in and have to give it back- just buy it.

Last night when we were talking about it, I suggested he just buy it out at the end of the lease unless something changes dramatically. He knows it works right- no telling what a vehicle purchased this year will have glitchy with it.

He works as an electrician and needs to have a truck for his tools, so he really will have no choice.

I've stayed away from leases, but as I recall, they estimate what the value of the truck will be at the end of lease and then base the payments on that. If he can get it for the "projected" value instead of the actual value right now, that might be his best deal.

I remember a similar incident when I was a kid while we were at Calloway Gardens. A tornado came through and blew water skis and and 2x4 lumber across the park. I remember seeing some stuck in walls.

Provided that is the only damage, that bed can be salvaged and the tailgate is perfect. Worst case a new bed for $3000 and they are back on the road.

That's a Tennessee license plate on that truck. The wind that blew that metal through the bed of the truck must have been a Dawgs fan.
