This pretty much says what many are thinking

No, this pretty well says it. Even though we guys sometimes make gay jokes, most of us believe in the live and let live philosophy. I have many gay friends, and while I won't say I approve of the lifestyle, I still love them for who they are.

Perhaps a better way to state the meaning of the above statement is: It's their life and has nothing to do with me or how I live mine, so it's really none of my business. But when they get militant about it and start making it everyone's business, that is when it becomes a problem.

When George Floyd was killed everyone was appalled. Everyone. Not because he was a black man killed by a police officer, but because he was a man killed by a police officer. Nobody should be treated that way, nobody. Everyone wanted accountability.

When Ahmaud Arbury was killed in Brunswick and the police and DA moved to cover it up and protect their buddies, everyone was once again angry. That crap was over in the 70's. Things had to change.

There were peaceful marches and everyone was on board. The peaceful marches were quickly taken over by left wing anarchists. The "marches" became riots and riots became sieges and innocent people were hurt and property was destroyed and we no longer gave a tinker's damn about their "cause" because there wasn't one.

How to turn an entire population against you in one three month lesson. This was a lesson that is old folks already learned back in the day. That's why MLK and his lieutenants are icons and rest rot in jail forgotten. Those who refuse to learn from history, well you know. They had a huge chance for meaningful change and traded it for the sack of beans called cancel culture.
