I don't know if I've mentioned before, but I'm (slowly) learning Chinese using Fluenz. I've always been fascinated by foreign language. In high school this awoke when I took Spanish. I decided to teach myself Polish. Then in college I took up German. Sadly, when I took up teaching, I let all of this lapse since I was just overwhelmed and never seemed to have free time.
I've gotten better at time management and wanted to go back to foreign language. One of these three seemed obvious, but my photography hobby had led me into HDR photography and I discovered the work of a man named Trey Ratcliff who takes HDR photographs of exotic places all over the world. I was really struck by some of his images from China and I knew that was what I wanted to learn. I don't know if this latest picture of his comes from a part of China that speaks the version of Chinese I'm learning, but it is fascinating.
