The writing officially began this week. I really needed a break, but it's nice to get back to the writing. Even when I finished Code of Misconduct, there was SO MUCH editing, reading and re-reading that my eyes about fell out. I was nearly worse off than Jay "The Terrible" Taylor! :eek:

The buddy I am collaborating with had a skeleton of the story and it will really help move things along. I just had to figure out how to introduce Colson into the project and give him the motivation needed to get involved.

If you have any favorite smart alec comments you'd like to suggest Colson use in the new book, just post them and you might see it in print! 8)

ALSO, I could use a name for a side character in the book who plays the Clay County District Attorney in the beginning. Post some suggestions and I might use one of them ;D
 
Is the DA a man or woman? And Colson didn't strike me as somebody who would use smart-aleck comments a lot. Or maybe that's just a side of him we haven't seen yet...

The DA is a guy. Obviously I didn't make him enough of a smart alec the first time :laugh

I'll have to think on this.... I'll think of a name. Is he going to be a jerk, or a good guy?
 
David Patton - give him a strong last name to show he's a strong DA.
 
The DA is not a jerk and he plays a small part in the beginning of the story. I just thought it would be fun to include y'all in it ;D

Lee Child has a cool little thing he has done in the past. People bid to have a character named after them and the money they bid goes to charity. I'd be glad to do something like that, but I don't know what kind of response it would get. I guess the Salvation Army would be happy with even $5 :laugh :whistle
 
Is the DA a N. Florida native? And I could see where GC could have a smart-aleck streak...good to bring out, but not to the point of obnoxiousness. I read a Nelson DeMille books awhile back, and while I liked the smartness, etc., of the main character, I wanted to slap him for his attitude throughout the entire book.
 
I like Lisa C's suggestion. I can't think of an awesome name. Except maybe Shep for the first name. I love that name, short for Shepard.

Is he a gay news reader? (I don't know if Shep Smith is really gay, but I do know he's gotten more knee-jerk liberal in the last few years. He TOTALLY lost me with his hysterical Katrina coverage.)

Lol IDK. I've just loved the name Shep ever since reading "The Divine Secrets of the YaYa Sisterhood." lol
 
I'll keep all the names and plug one of them in. Y'all can keep ideas coming. It's pretty fun, but I might have to take Fox's 5 bucks :laugh

BTW, Shep Smith is about the only person on Fox News that I don't like. It has nothing to do with being gay or not. He comes across as condescending lib to me. :Stick
