The Official Dallas Hwy 2022 Mid-term Election Thread

From Mark Lavin:

Raphael Warnock wins re-election and despite the fact he has praised Louis Farrakhan and Leonard Jeffries, two raving racists and anti-Semitic lunatics and is a Marxist who supports BLM, and despite allegations of physical abuse and failing to pay child support by his ex-wife,
is celebrated, praised, and congratulated by Democrats and their media, including repulsive Joe Biden and sleazy Chuck Schumer.

Been so long, I don't think most would make that connection.

Rumors are flying as to what Kemp will do next. Tossoff will probably not be that hard to beat.

There have also been several articles about Kemp being a future POTUS candidate after his recent win in Georgia.

First thing I thought of as a West Coast person, who to be honest, as a young person was surprised how dumb Carter Sounded due to his slow cadence of speech and "folksy" word choices.

I now can appreciate that all areas of our nation have different accents... but I don't know that he can campaign on a national stage this slow. It makes him sound dull.

The race was way closer than it should have been considering Forrest Gump would be a much more viable candidate than Walker. Here are some facts agree or not this is the way I see it. JMO

Walker was a horrible candidate. He comes across as a south Georgia cotton picking buck. Which he is.
DJT is the most divisive POTUS ever and his kiss is the kiss of death for any candidate that needs independents. (fact)
The GOP leadership are ball less, racist, elitest, hypocrites. (any black man can win regardless of any credibility, really?)
White people are spoiled, self absorbed and lazy. (prove me wrong)
The Dems out worked and out hustled the GOP. (Senator Warnock, Senator Ossoff enough said)
INDEPENDENTS WIN ELECTIONS. (48% yellow dogs on both sides 4% on the fence)
WASHINGTON DOES NOT WANT TO CHANGE AND NEVER WILL.

These two candidates are a disgrace to this country and as far away from what the founding fathers envisioned as could possibly be.

What we really should do is convince Trump to endorse nothing but democrats,,, let the chaos begin!

Vernon Jones to Newsmax: GOP Didn't Target Black Voters in Ga. Senate Runoff

I agree with him.

While I don't think the GOP is inherently racist, I think they are clueless on the issue of appealing to black voters.

Fact is, black voters are a force to be reckoned with, and well over 90% vote Democrat. Personally, I think the Democrats are only using them and they've done the black race no favors. Conservatism offers aa lot of great things to black voters in terms of prosperity and other factors, and we need to get that message out. They are plenty of great representatives who could carry the message to the black community, but I've seen little evidence that the GOP is even trying. And until they do, they will probably continue to lose.

The sooner it's acknowledged that the R and the D are opposite sides of the same coin then the better the medicine tastes, it really makes no difference which side lands up. As long as we keep voting for the establishment candidate of either party why should we expect any changes. The right to vote includes the right not to vote. We wouldn't eat food from a nasty restaurant, we wouldn't buy a house in a crime infested neighborhood, why should we accept a less than average candidate to run our country. JMO.

I absolutely agree both parties are stagnant do nothings whose main goal is to stay in power hence the "establishment." I also agree it is anyone's right not to vote if they choose. Where I differ is if I choose not eat somewhere or buy a home in the hood that decision only effects me. If I choose not to vote (regardless of the lack of credible choices) I effect many other people locally and nationally. If an additional 3% of the total number of voters from this last run off sucked it up, went to the polls, held their nose and voted for Walker he would be Senator Walker. I obviously do not know the number that actually sat this one out but the 3% increase of the final over all total is a close number to have turned the race. I am not saying that is the main reason for the loss just addressing the non-voter part of the equation. I think Walker was a horrible candidate just like I think DJT is a horrible candidate but I sucked it up and cast my vote for both mainly to oppose the other party. Sad but true.

The only reason Carter won was that there were enough independent voters against Ford for pardoning Nixon. Carter received 50.1% of the vote to Ford's 48.
