The Mandate

You should already know I'm no fan of the Bumbler n Chief, also known as THE MOTH - Biden. I'm also no anti-vaxer (sp), but this imbecile has gone entirely TOO far with this vaccine mandate on private business. He said, "this is not about freedom," and that's the only sensible thing he said. He's right! Obviously freedom means nothing to this sorry excuse for a president. I don't care if such a mandate can prevent 1 person from getting Covid (which could never be proven), it is dead wrong and flies in the face of Freedom.

I'll play devil's advocate here. There are vaccines required for children who attend public schools. Here's the list for Georgia.

When it can be unequivocally proven by multiple independent sources with no ties to financial gain that the jab has passed the same vigorous testing standards as all other previous "mandated" jabs or when I step outside and smell the stitch of death in the air from virus victims then I'll gladly get one. I'm not anti-jab but I certainly am anti-band wagon. Everyone is and should remain free to make their own decision based on their personal beliefs and risk tolerance which is no different than having the choice to have an abortion or to have a DNR placed into your medical records.

Yes, that exactly right and anyone with kids remembers. It might have been Rush I heard it from (Dear Lord, can we please have him back) but I'm not sure. But the nut of it was that the shots students are required to have differ from a vaccine for a flu type of ailment. Such as the shot for polio and I don't recall the others off the top of my head. Supposedly, you can't get polio if vaccinated, but you absolutely can get the flu post vaccination.

In any case, I am firmly opposed to what The Moth proclaimed, but I heard another opinion that may very well explain it. Just like the extension of the moratorium on evictions. It is VERY likely he did this for the same reason. Knowing the SCOTUS will strike it down like they did the last one so he can blame those mean old conservative judges, giving the socialist liberals more firepower and justification to pack the court. I tend to agree with this theory.

Now that COVID has mutated, we are seeing children who were once unaffected by it, now being hospitalized with the Delta variant and death being a result for some. Now there's the mu variant. This virus has demonstrated it will continue to mutate until it is stopped. To stop it means the vast majority of people need to have antibodies to defeat it. There are two ways of getting antibodies. You can get the antibodies the way GD acquired them or you can get the vaccines.

My father is now dying because he refused the vaccine and he was high risk.

I'm old enough to remember when "My Body, My Choice" was the battle cry for the lefists. Apparently they didn't really mean it.
If you want to compare this to abortion then go right ahead, but it's comparing apples to oranges. How does a woman who has an abortion put your life in danger?

People who do not have antibodies to defend themselves from COVID and then become asymptomatic spread it to others they come in contact with. COVID puts people in the hospital killing large numbers and giving many survivors long-term health issues. Now children are getting it and dying from it. The only way to stop the virus is herd immunity which can be achieved through vaccinations.

I oppose abortion, but the law says women have the right to make that decision and the SCOTUS has backed that on several occasions. I pray women look at having the baby and adopting it out to heterosexual couples who can't have children. The bottom line though is when a woman gets an abortion, it becomes an issue between her and God. When someone gets COVID, it's a community issue because one person can spread it to many others while asymptomatic, which was the case with my father.

Did you know the polio vaccine was released by the FDA as an emergency use drug before it was fully vetted by the FDA? The small pox vaccine wasn't approved by the FDA until 2007.

The unvaccinated can spread it too, and a lot of vaccinated people are getting it. I found out tonight that a fully vaccinated friend has it.

Besides...this is not about the vaccine at all, it's about doing something to control the news and take attention away from the debacle in Afghanistan. And it seems to be working.

The vaccines are not 100% effective. There isn't a vaccine around for anything that is 100% effective. I know two people who were vaccinated and got the Delta variant. Both said it was just a matter of having the runs and a headache.

This will be bad for the economy if it stands.
The economy is already on the decline. The Dow has dropped every day this week.

I'm a firm supporter of every employer mandating their employees to be vaccinated or no job. When a breakout of covid happens on the worksite, it costs the employer more in operating expenses because they often have to pay others overtime. Not to mention the lost production that occurs.

Insurance companies were being generous when they waived co-pays and deductibles to treat those with covid. Now that the FREE vaccine is available, they're not going to do that anymore. You are going to see your health care premiums take a big jump for the next enrollment period. Why? Too many people got covid because they refused to take the vaccine.
