In a 8-1 vote, the city mandated all city employees show proof of vaccination or request an exemption by Wednesday, (December 1, 2021) The Los Angeles Times reported.

Employees who don't comply with the mandate within 30 days will be fired.

City data showed around 709 officers, about 37 percent of the police force, are still unvaccinated as of last week, according to the Times.

The San Diego Police Officers Association was the only labor group not able to come to an agreement with the city.

The police union wanted the option for officers to get tested for the virus instead of vaccinated, progressive discipline and an appeals process for denied exemptions. The city said no to all of it.

Brandon Gibson knows just how serious COVID-19 is. He beat back the disease two months ago.

“It kicked my butt,” he said.

Yet he quit the San Diego police force earlier this month after 10 years because he is not ready to get the vaccine, an imminent condition of employment for city workers.

“I am not an anti-vaxer,” Gibson, 45, said in a recent interview.


He appreciates science, he said, but he has concerns about serious side effects — which health officials say are rare — and doesn’t agree with the city’s mandate.

“It’s really infringing on our freedoms,” he said. “It’s my body; it’s my choice.”

So he quit.

Gibson, who was a member of the Police Department’s Special Operations Unit and an on-call sniper on the SWAT team, said he knows “quite a few” officers who, like him, resigned recently, although he was unable to share an estimate.

“I’ve lost track,” he said.

Many of the officers, he said, are eyeing law enforcement jobs out of state.

Judge temporarily blocks Biden administration vaccine mandate for health-care workers in 10 states​



The Biden administration issued the vaccine mandate, for health-care workers at facilities that received funding from Medicare and Medicaid, in early November through the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). It was estimated to apply to some 1.7 million workers at 76,000 facilities across the country, including hospitals and nursing homes.

But in a 32-page ruling issued on Monday in St. Louis, U.S. District Judge Matthew T. Schelp, who was appointed by President Donald Trump, said that a preliminary injunction to halt the rule was warranted because he believed the arguments made by the plaintiffs — 10 mostly Republican-dominated states — that the CMS lacked authority to implement the requirement, probably had merit.

He also questioned whether there was enough data about transmissibility and vaccination status, and he said that he believed the order was probably “arbitrary and capricious.”

Sadly, this administration loves the fact our supply chain is falling apart, our police departments, hospitals, and large employers are being decimated by his stupid mandate.

They are in their own bubble in D.C., but they are so sure they can demand everyone get a jab, that they are actually angry at those who have not done so yet.

I think if they'd stop appearing to "force" it on people and start over with a scientifically based approach to educated people about the pros and the cons of it that many people will begin to feel more comfortable towards getting vaccinated. It's the "anti-American", tyrannical, and "you will obey" message that Americans don't like. I don't give a rats behind what happens in other countries, they don't enjoy the same Constitutional Rights as Americans do. It's the major cause of the hesitation and outright rebellion....it's the American way. It can't be that difficult to understand can it?

You would think so, but I think the tyrannical part is what they want.

If they can get us used to taking orders, we will turn in our guns, and pass over all our earnings.

My Cousin is that way, he was about to get the shot, but when Brandon made it mandatory, he said hell no, now taking it means I agree with him.

I can say with certainty it was why I was against it. I'm as southern and as hard headed as one can be, born in Bama and raised in south Georgia. I don't do well with anyone telling me what I will do....unless there's big bucks involved then we can probably come to a mutual agreement. As my small circle became more and more affected by Covid then my hard headedness began to soften and my own common sense began to kick in. As of now I plan to get the first round on or around Feb 8th which is the first day I'm eligible. I could change my mind but at the moment that's the direction I'm leaning. It should be up to the each individual and based on their personal level of risk tolerance with no shame being towards those who get it or those who decide not to get it.

There are also 300,000 heart related problems in those age 30 to 45 that the medical community is trying to blame on PPSD - Post Pandemic Stress Disorder. They are trying to tell these people their heart problems that started after the jab are really just mental stress from Covid and worrying about Covid...
