And CNN is jumping on the bandwagon with both feet. CNN can't go bankrupt fast enough. They are a stain on the clothing of true Journalism.

America's Russia nightmare is back

America is blundering into a new Russia election-meddling hall of mirrors that's already doing Moscow's work: tearing fresh political divides and threatening to again tarnish democracy's most sacred moment, a national election.
Revelations Thursday about intelligence assessments that Russia has launched a new interference effort to help reelect Donald Trump -- and the President's furious reaction -- mark the return of a recurring nightmare for the country just nine months before the presidential election.
The uproar over Russia's disinformation drive to hurt Hillary Clinton and help Trump four years ago cast a cloud that the current President has never been able to escape. The President's defensive response to a new Russia interference drama, colored by his belief that all such revelations as a "Deep State" assault on his own legitimacy, already appears to be exacerbating the damage caused by Moscow's meddling.

Trump's preoccupation with suggestions that he only won in 2016 because of Russia sparked destabilizing and willful presidential behavior, including the firing of FBI Director James Comey that led to a years-long special counsel probe.

Schiff is already assuming once again Trump supports the Russian meddling. He still can't accept the fact the Mueller investigation showed no collusion between Trump and the Russians during the last presidential campaign and is playing right into the Russians' goal of creating even more division within the country.

Trump needs to come out and voice opposition and take action against Russia's meddling. The first thing he could do is impose sanctions on them and let them know that any further evidence of meddling will lead to further sanctions.

I don't doubt that Russia meddles, no more than I doubt we and other advanced nations do as well. I read a recent article that China might be doing more of it than Russia is.

The internet and social media has created a ripe platform to spread propaganda and fill people's heads with disinformation. I've mentioned this before; but propaganda trolls are all over social media, and I think it's much worse than more of us realize. We've had them on the big HVAC forum I mod at. I see them on Facebook all the time. One way to recognize them is that most of them are spreading the same, twisted crap at the same time. They received their directive from the mothership and they are passing their BS along.

Who's behind it? I think a lot of people. I'm sure there is some foreign influence. The Democratic Party, or at least leftist powers, have been huge into it. Even Trump has dabbled in it, as he had his own fake news outlet that was very active before Trump was elected. Of interest, they kinda disappeared after the election, but I saw an article from them just last week, so maybe they are gearing up again.

What do we do about it? I know of no easy answer because the last thing I want to do is to restrict free speech. Education is the best weapon I have right now, but as the old saying goes: you can lead a horse to water but can't make them drink.

I think all large Nations spy and try to influence other countries. Our country has historically tried to encourage and support leaders in Nations who are less socialist/communist/imperialist.

We have often backed the wrong dictator or group.

It is naive to think worldwide it does not happen, the hope is that they are not working in conjunction with a candidate. For instance what if Russia was funding Bernie. We would not think that was right.

I wondered if 0bama had money coming in from those Visa and Master Cards that can be purchase and give as a gift. There was talk that many untraceable donations came in that way. CNN did not seem to care back then? So Yawn... no one will investigate unless it hurts Trump at this point... so I couldn't care less because it is probably untrue from CNN.
