Thanks JR for sending me the book. I read it in three days and really liked it and I'm hooked as now I want to read the rest of the series. I did have some issues on some technical aspects in the book. There are no red buttons to push to start a HMMWV (Humvee). During Operation Just Cause, nobody had to sign in or sign out to enter any military installation. They did run a 100% ID check of everyone coming on a base, but their names were not recorded unless their vehicle didn't have a DoD sticker on the windshield. Absolutely nobody was recorded as they departed a base. Officers don't get to exchange their damaged uniforms for new ones through a quartermaster. Officers have to buy all their uniforms unless they are uniforms necessary for deployment. We don't call them the quartermaster either. For decades we have just been referring to them as "supply." These are just minor things I picked up on in the book.

It was a great story though and I liked Reacher. I was actually surprised he killed Willard. If it were me, I would have put the drugs in his vehicle and called the civilian LEOs. Personally, I would have rather seen him have to live with being dishonorably discharged from the Army for illegal drug possession. Killing Willard reduced Reacher to the same level as Marshall and the others. I want to read "The Affair" next.

Thanks again Bro for sending me the book. I really enjoyed it. I think this one would have made an excellent movie. I can't see Tom Cruise playing Reacher though; not at all. For one, he's too short. I think Hugh Jackman would be a great Reacher.

I'm glad you liked it, Bro. I haven't read it yet because I've spent so much time writing. I'm not versed much in military procedure, etc. That would be the one thing that would worry me about writing about a subject I'm not VERY familiar with. I imagine Lee Child does his research, but you can't get 100% right information every time.

But his books are very enjoyable. I think you would like the entire series. Reacher is a very unusual and entertaining charchter 8)

I'll see if I can order them somewhere that will mail here. I have plenty of time to read here and doing so would help kill some time. I can't believe how many places in the states that take online orders will not mail to an APO or FPO address. It's no different than mailing something to an address in the US.

That is odd! I didn't realize that.

Very odd indeed. I don't understand it either. Oh well. Since we have a new command element here, my mailing address has changed. If anyone wants it, send me a pm.

Psshhh!!! Jack Reacher Smack Smeacher. I wrote a book on my lunch break the other day. If I can find it I will post it...for free....just this one time.

Just found this ...

...Many companies do not ship to APO or FPO addresses because they have bulk shipping contracts with FedEx, DHL and UPS to save money or they do not have an automated way to handle APO/FPO USPS customs requirements...

Many of these companies that don't ship are large ones. I've had large companies i.e. Best Buy ship me stuff here I bought through them. I've even had small businesses ship me stuff. The one thing the all had was the custom form USPS uses on their computers, completed it and taped it well to the shipping box. The post office will pick up parcels from businesses. Wolfe's camera doesn't have their online order form set up for APO/FPO addresses, but I sent them an email for a camera lens I wanted and they replied back and instructed me to give them all the needed info in an email. Apparently, they wanted my business.
