Starlink

It appears to be available in this area now, I just got an email wanting me to order.

I'll be staying with fiber, cheaper and faster, but good to have options.

I may check it out. We don’t have the option for fiber yet and our AT&T internet is SLOW in comparison to what some of ya’ll have posted. On the other hand, what I have now works just fine and as long as I can’t out type it then why change…especially if it costs more.

Starlink is great if you don't have other good options. Expensive though for both the hardware and monthly.
^This^. For people who live where there are no good wired options (fiber included in that), Starlink would be the bomb diggity.

You don't have fiber internet yet? :(

:D

I was offered Starlink by the builder for free since fiber was not here yet as he promised. I declined as I did not want anything satellite related and I get better speeds than Starlink with the T-Mobile Home Internet gateway. I am still not getting near what I will get with fiber so I am chomping at the bit to order it.

Well, fiber has been run to our street, but no idea when I can order it as ATT cannot see our address and I cannot get anyone to figure it out.
It was run to our street three years ago, but they may never run it down our street! Don't hold your breath as it has to do with the number of homes they need to serve, and less than 25 is a nogo.

I've heard mostly good things about the T-Mobile home internet.

I should have said it has been run down our street. The ATT fiber cover is in the ground right outside my driveway and we only have 5 homes on this private road.

Have had starlink for a year. Nothing else available here but att dsl It is 5 megs down when working, and max 44k up.
Can't get cell service here do to being in a valley. Had to put up 2 sections of rohn 25 tower in back yard to get away from
trees.

Get a phone with wifi calling and that will solve the phone problem. That's what we do at home.
