I'm so tired of people insinuating that Jim Crow laws still exist today under another form. The whole idea having to show a picture ID to vote marginalizes voters is absurd. These idiots claim not everybody has a driver's license or a state ID card because not everyone has the ability to get one is even more absurd and a downright lie.
Let's look at how often a picture ID is required.
E-Verify is now available for employers in all 50 states. Presently more than 750,000 employers use E-Verify when hiring employees. Most importantly, the federal government uses E-Verify when hiring employees and requires any company having a contract with the federal government to use E-Verify. A person has to present to forms of identification for the employer to photocopy and upload into E-Verify; one of those must be a picture ID, either a driver's license or state ID. If the person is an immigrant, their green card, which is also a picture ID must be used. I emphasize the federal government requires all people applying for a federal job or a job with a company having a contract with them to have a picture ID. How many of you have seen liberals complain about this and accuse the government of marginalizing people when it comes to employment?
When a person applies for Social Security benefits, the federal government requires a person to provide a US driver's license, state ID, or US passport; none of which may be expired. Once again, the federal government requires a picture ID. Have you seen Democrats demanding this be changed because it prevents people from receiving their benefits?
When you travel by air, you are now required by law to present a current picture ID in the form of a passport, driver's license or state issued ID along with your plane ticket BEFORE you are allowed access to the boarding terminals. Have you seen any Democrat demand this be changed because it prevents people from traveling by air?
Many states require people to present a picture ID along with their birth certificate when applying for a marriage license. I haven't heard any complaints from Dems about that either.
Some states require picture IDs to file for welfare benefits. I haven't heard any Dems complain about that either.
Do you hear Dems complain about hotels requiring a photo ID when you check in? How about banks requiring a photo ID when applying for a bank account or loan?
The Democratic Party claims the requirement of having voters present a picture ID to vote prevents people from voting; yet does not make a single complaint about picture IDs having to be used when applying for government benefits or employment. The question everyone should be asking is, "Why do Democrats oppose voter ID, but support ID requirements to receive government benefits, jobs, and to travel by air?" I can tell you why. Not requiring voter ID allows them to commit voter fraud in elections. We have all seen the historical reports and recent reports on how dead people vote and how these dead people vote for Democrats. It's another reason why the Dems want mail-in ballots sent to every single person on voter registration lists. It's a method of cheating and by the time the cheating is discovered, it's too late.
