If you answer yes or no, please share why you feel that way.

I support vouchers because it provides an alternative to help ensure children receive a quality education where public schools are failing.

I agree. I have a friend on the board who feel very differently. Nothing wrong with that. If you don't support the idea, please comment. We don't bite folks heads off here.

Guard Dad may poot in your general direction, but that's the extent of it. :p

Introduce free-market competition into the education system, and our kids will receive a far better education for less money.

So, yes I support the voucher system wholeheartedly.

Can I get a refund if I never had children? Why should I pay school taxes if there are no kids.... ever?

Yes, money should follow the child. In countries where this happens the kids test better. Competition for students make all of the schools work harder and the results are amazing. Winchester if I could make that decision I would give your money back if you did not want to donate it.

In 2004, Congress authorized the voucher system in DC for families with poverty income. Academic performance increased as well as graduation rates. The Democratic controlled Congress killed the voucher program in 2009. Why did they kill a program that was successful? Congress is now considering bringing the voucher program back. Parents are supporting it, but some of the city leaders are opposed to it, mostly because it pulls money from their schools. Could part of the reason also be that the the voucher system really pointed out the failure of the public school system in DC?
