Saloon Doors...Remember Them?

Go ahead and admit it, you've had Saloon Doors in your house before, haven't you? ;)

As I kid I thought they were WAY COOL, but you don't see them often....if at all anymore.

The reason I was thinking about them is because I plan on building a pair. Not for inside the house, but for the utility room I built this weekend in the garage. Guard Dad mention keeping the furnace and hot water heater ventilated and that was my plan, but I didn't want to leave that area open to view. It would mess up my planned theme.

I saw these and I believe a gray stain would be nice. Maybe not so rustic, but a little on the rutic side. I do like the hardware on these... ;D

I have never had them in a home I lived in. I do agree that the hardware on the bottom set is nice. :thumbsup

I think it was more of a 70's trend. Mrs. Reacher would never allow them inside the house. I could hear her eyes rolling when I even suggested the idea of putting them in the garage :laugh

Ok, I lived in a 150 year old house that had no bedroom door, we put these up for some privacy, better than nothing, yeah I'm old. LOL

Yes, I remember them. (There's no praying smiley and NOW no hanging head smiley. What's a girl to do?)

I never lived in a house that swinging doors, but my grandparents built a home in the 60s that had them in the doorway seperating the kitchen from the dining room.

That settles it! I'm putting them in ;D

I think it'd be a great idea in such a situation as yours. I might even copy you if I ever get that fancy with my basement.
