Racing at Daytona and Talladega is fun to watch but the wrecks at these two tracks can be pretty bad with all the cars running in one (or two) big packs.
200 MPH getting hit on the drivers side while you're upside down.....still haven't seen anything official other than he's been taken to the hospital, but this looks a lot like Dale's crash in 2001. Looks really bad.
It was a horrific crash at the same track where Dale E. and Neil Bonnet lost their lives. The safety features on these cars are light years ahead of ten years ago. Ten years ago he would have been killed instantly IMO. The second hit to an open cockpit car like Indy or GP would have probably resulted in a death also. I don't know the extent of his injuries but the fact that he survived is amazing.
