Ryan Newman crash at Daytona

Brutal crash. The initial crash was bad enough but then getting hit by another car at that speed is just brutal.

Racing at Daytona and Talladega is fun to watch but the wrecks at these two tracks can be pretty bad with all the cars running in one (or two) big packs.

Did anyone else notice the gasoline leaking into the greenhouse, while there was a fire by the fuel filler neck???

200 MPH getting hit on the drivers side while you're upside down.....still haven't seen anything official other than he's been taken to the hospital, but this looks a lot like Dale's crash in 2001. Looks really bad.

I dunno... the Ryan Newman crash looked like most any afternoon commute on I-285.

* I wouldn't clown about this, but it looks like he's doing okay. (Thank Goodness)

It was a horrific crash at the same track where Dale E. and Neil Bonnet lost their lives. The safety features on these cars are light years ahead of ten years ago. Ten years ago he would have been killed instantly IMO. The second hit to an open cockpit car like Indy or GP would have probably resulted in a death also. I don't know the extent of his injuries but the fact that he survived is amazing.
