Let's look at what she said because it's so telling of how polarizing and divisive Pelosi is.
"I hope you'll ask the same question of the Republicans on why they don't want to meet the needs of the American people," Pelosi responded. "But let me say to those people because all of my colleagues -- we represent these people ... and their needs are not addressed in the president's proposal. So when you say to me, 'Why don't you accept theirs?' Why don't they accept ours?"
Does she really believe the Republicans didn't want to meet the needs of the people with their stimulus plan? How about their plan to give each American $1,200 and those who are unemployed federal unemployment of $400 a week on top of the unemployment benefits they receive from their state? How about the continuation and expansion of PPP for small businesses that will continue to help keep people employed and many small businesses from closing down?
Pelosi's concern is not the people. Her main concern is bailing out the states; primarily California. She told Blitzer her party wants to help the American people because they KNOW the American people. She showed the American people her true colors on CNN. She's not the only Democrat in Congress though who showed the American people they really don't care about them. Every single Democrat on the Senate Judicial Committee has shown the American people they don't care about them. Sure they all talked about how they should be working on a stimulus package rather than holding a SCOTUS confirmation hearing. They stated how people aren't able to pay their rent, utilities, and purchase groceries to feed their families because they are unemployed. Yet, they have had months to produce a bill that would benefit just the people and small businesses or pass the Republican stimulus package. They too are putting the states and their pet projects ahead of the people they claim to feel badly for, by insisting the stimulus contain money to bailout states and pay for their pet projects.
You would think those who normally vote for the Democratic Party would see right through that charade and see the Dems are only using the American people for political purposes. Perhaps many traditionally Democrats saw that today, but unfortunately many of them have probably voted early and cast their vote for Democratic candidates. Perhaps now many wish they had waited a while longer to vote. Perhaps many who have not voted are now turned off after Pelosi's blowup with Blitzer and have now changed their mind to where they are so disgusted they stay home and not vote.
