Update on Amy

She's doing better. They took her off the leaf blower and now just have her on the standard oxygen cunnula (nose thingy). So this is good news, it means the pneumonia is breaking up and her lung capacity is coming back.

She still has a long recovery ahead of her (I know firsthand), but at least she's headed in the right direction.

I had been posting in the COVID thread about my son-in-law's grandfather; he has COVID pneumonia and was already on an oxygen machine before he got this.

He has continued to go downhill and they are now doubtful he'll make it through the night.

Such a nice guy! The family is gonna have a hard time with this one. Cecil Byrd is his name.

Sure hate that for the family.

He passed away at about 12:30 AM

I am so sorry.

Without drugs to help our elderly, and those with underlying conditions, or those who get covid pneumonia, there are many horribly sad stories of lost family members.

I still don't understand why hospitals and doctors have not shared what has worked worldwide to save patients' lives.

The push for vaccine vaccine vaccine, instead of medicine to help recovery is where our leaders and the media have either failed us or it is an evil plan.

It's never good to see fire trucks and an ambulance in your neighborhood. Pray for the family.

(The UFO's are watching too, I wonder if they're posting it to their blog and if it's called the Dallas Skyway instead?)

Sadly, yet another prayer request. Both the brother in law and aunt of a coworker are in the hospital. Both are not doing good at all. :(

Prayers appreciated. Thanks!

We have a good friend who just got out of ICU and the hospital, (pneumonia) but is still on O2. Cancer survivor, but all the treatments messed up her immune system.

Please pray for our middle daughter who is 34 weeks pregnant with her 2nd child. She called earlier to say she had a pre-natal appt with her doctor today. She called later and said he didn't like what he saw and sent her to the hospital. They admitted her to precautionary measures to monitor the baby's vitals. Evidently she was trying to go into labor so they administered some meds to try to stop or slow it. Her husband called about an hour ago to say she's at 3.5cm and they're now transferring her by ambulance from the hospital in Thomasville to the one in Albany GA which is about an hour away. Not sure what's really going on but it's all I can do to convince the Queen to relax and wait until tomorrow morning. It would be after midnight by the time we got there and they probably wouldn't allow us to go in anyway. We're waiting on another update from our son-in-law and praying they're just being precautious. The baby's weight was estimated over 5lbs last week so even if she has him now he should be big enough and developed enough to avoid any major challenges.

One of my co-workers just had her baby at 34 weeks. Baby is fine, she is doing well. She was born at 5 lbs, 3 oz. The baby was in the NICU for a bit, but that is normal. The sucking reflex develops when a baby is still in the womb. The earliest it develops is in week 32 of pregnancy. It’s generally fully developed by week 36 of pregnancy.

My second son was a preemie, he was born at 31 weeks. He had to be fed with a feeding tube initially, and was on oxygen. They have to make sure the oxygen level is correct because the veins in the eyes have to have the right oxygen to form correctly. That all happens naturally in utero... but it is made more difficult if born early.

It is scary and sad when the baby comes too soon. Leaving the hospital without your baby is very difficult. The staff in the NICU are the BEST.

I pray the baby gestates a little longer, and when ever he is born that he is healthy. :pray2:
