MikeW called to tell me that someone was setting up a website for current and previous Southern Gospel Groups and The Pioneers had a page. We are working with the website owner to load more photos and all the remaining Pioneers Quartet recordings.
A little history on the group. Three very dear friends of mine and I started the Pioneers Quartet in 2000. We had been with another group before starting our own. From 2000 to 2005, The Pioneers recorded 3 CDs, the final one, "Songs of Jesus" was recorded at Goldmine studios in Gadsden, Alabama.
Those years were the best in my Southern Gospel Music life. The Pioneers sang in concert with groups such as The Perrys, Legacy Five, The Joymasters and our favorite buddies with The Palmetto State Quartet. We recorded a live video with Palmetto State to a huge crowd at South Cobb High School in 2003. TBN produced it.
The first CD, "From Atlanta To You" was our first recording and, in many ways, my favorite. The photo on the cover was taken at the TV57 studio where we had just done a live 30 minute program. During those years, The Pioneers appeared on TV57 every 3 months.
I don't mean to go on and on, but those years with The Pioneers are very dear to me. If you go to THIS LINK, you can click on the CD and listen to any of the songs. It's hard for me to pick a favorite, but "I'll Live Again" is a good toe tapper.
