Paulding County Water and Sewer System had a major spill at a fitting on the forcemain at the Coppermine lift station site. 238,000 gallons of untreated sewage went onto the ground and into Weddington lake and a tributary of Mill Creek.

Wow, that's huge compared to some of the others reported at the little subdivision sized pump stations.

My 24x4' round pool is appox 12,000 gallons so, if my math is correct, that amount is approx a 68' diameter pool, 8 ft deep. That's a lot of doodoo. The county may get quite a fine for this spill from the EPA.

Also, looks like Mill creek ends up in Pine Valley Lake and Sweetwater creek, then in the Chattahoochee near Sweetwater creek state park.

Yuck.
