Not sure exactly how I feel about this...

NFL will play Black national anthem 'Lift Every Voice and Sing' before each Week 1 game

****

Starting with the nationally televised regular-season opener between the Houston Texans and Kansas City Chiefs on Sept. 10, “Lift Every Voice and Sing,” also known as the Black national anthem, will be performed before every Week 1 kickoff, before "The Star-Spangled Banner," according to a person familiar with ongoing discussions. The person spoke to USA TODAY Sports on condition of anonymity because plans have not yet been finalized and announced by NFL officials.

Both anthems will be televised Sunday afternoon, and on "Sunday Night Football" and "Monday Night Football" contests as well. ESPN’s "Undefeated" first reported news of these plans.

The person said after brainstorming with numerous players and the NFL Players Association, NFL officials also plan to honor victims of police brutality through elements such as helmet decals or jerseys. It’s also expected that the Week 1 broadcasts will feature a number of educational PSAs about victims and their families.

What exactly is this supposed to do?

World Peace? Rumor has it Kumbaya will immediately follow with everyone holding hands and drinking a Coke.

Who?

OK, seriously...I didn't give a damn about them before and that has not changed.

I have better things to do.

yeah, but I love football.

remember, I'm originally from Ohio where we have only two sports

1. Football.
2. The Buckeye's Spring Game

I'd watch a game of football of just kids playing in the street. ( it still needs to be tackle tho'.)

It really bums me out to see such a great game dragged thru a political sewer and the owners and commissioner letting it happen. I liked the distraction and violence of the NFL. Now it's just another social project.

I don't dislike sports, I was actually a decent athlete a hundred years or so ago.

I dislike the corrupt business that sports has become.

Wanna see good football? High school is the real deal.

A black national anthem? Huh? If there were a white national anthem, it would be declared racist by both blacks and the left. I'm so tired of this stuff and the double standards. Regardless of our race, we are Americans plain and simple. All this stuff does is further divide the country along racial and political lines.

Again, a certain group is demanding special treatment. I guess people are still not equal, I’m confused.

Glad I don't watch sports... nothing like paying to have entertainment, but instead being treated to a Marxist sponsored commercial.

“I certainly hope we still have the gumption to tell these pathetic, phony revolutionaries, who milk this country for everything it’s worth, while condemning it, go to hell and we, the people, stop subsidizing their extravagant lifestyles.” ~ Mark Levin

Report: NBA to Paint 'Black Lives Matter' on Disney Courts

NBPA president Chris Paul, an Oklahoma City Thunder guard, recently told ESPN that the players got permission from the league to wear words promoting social justice in place of their names on uniforms.

I'm okay with this.

"why?" you ask.... because now my time has been freed up even more.

No NFL
No NBA
No NASCAR
No Soccer (never was soccer anyway / commie sport)

What's left ? .... let's see

Baseball (yawn)

F1 (those guys are so self-centered, arrogant and entitled that they pay no attention to social issues.)

College Football ( Go Bearcats /Go Bucks / Go Dawgs / Roll Tide etc. etc. .....)

....... and let's not forget about the NHL, those guys are nails.
