Not a book but a nice article...

As I get older, I miss south Georgia more and more...maybe I'll retire there at some point.

Thomasville is a nice little city (granted, not as nice as Cairo but still nice). :D

Cairo is basically part of Thomasville now, both are growing. I despise the thought of moving back but unfortunately with our middle daughter living there now I'm sure at one point the Queen will want to go back. She was a transplant and only lived there a short while so she didn't experience the "full meal-deal" of the snobby small town wanna-bees before we married and moved to the Atlanta area. I actually like the rural life style but can't stomach the smurky little turds with their daddy's old money.
Outside of that it's a beautiful town. :laughbunny:

I spent nearly a year in Pelham Ga. Apparently there are relatives of the Carnegie's there. They don't have a pot to pee in either, but you wouldn't know it. Ah small towns.

I learned one thing about Pelham...you dang sure better slow down when going through there, especially if you have out of town plates. Both of my daughters and I got tickets all at different times within the same month and each were issued by the same officer. I went down two different days to fight it...and of course lost the battle on principle anyway.

But if you eat breakfast with the sheriff a couple of times a month and pick up the tab...
