It is funny and ironic because those idiots on the Nobel Committee and other peaceniks fell under his spell like so many people, and now they are seeing that Obama is just an empty suit waiting for someone to tell him what to do.
 
He never deserved it. It should have been for what he HAD accomplished not what he might do. You gave it to him, suck it up!

It was an absurdity to have given it to him when they did. It effectively destroyed any interest I have in the Nobel Prize, not because I had anything against Barack Obama but because he hadn't done anything to deserve it. (Why not give me an Oscar — I might make a good film in the future?)

I think that he also thought it was an embarrassment. It's difficult to say no to something like this, but I think it would have been better if he had.
 
It used to be that only the peace prize and the literature prize were purely motivated by a liberal political agenda. Now even the scientific prizes are issued in the interest of a global social democracy.
