Navy SEAL still being harrassed by Navy

The Navy lost face in a case they should have never brought to a courts-martial. Gallagher was found not guilty of all charges except for taking a picture with a corpse. Funny how none of the other SEALs in that picture were charged with taking a picture with a corpse. The penalty imposed for the picture was a reduction in rank from pay grade E-7 to E-6. That reduces the amount of his pay while he's still in and when he retires. Apparently the Navy is still going after him, by refusing to let him retire. The Navy is pissed because they embarrassed themselves with the courts-martial.

Prior to the courts-martial, the Navy held him in solidarity confinement. Trump stepped in and had the Navy remove him from that so he could better prepare for his defense. I won't be surprised if Trump steps in again and gives Gallagher a pardon for the photo conviction and force the Navy to restore his pay grade back to E-7 and let him retire.

If you're wondering why the Navy can stop you from retiring; it's because they still have him under investigation. Investigation for what? Nobody seems to know.

The two paragraphs that I see are that the guy has been in 8 combat tours... he is trained to kill... has seen things you and I would not want to see, and done things an average citizen wouldn't want to do.

I think our society, and mindset in America at this point is so stupid, they can not sort out war from life in America where terrorists are not around every corner. We live in the luxury of our country because of patriots like Gallagher.

Then I think of Benghazi and how Hillary and 0bama and the group never stood trial for letting those patriots go through a siege with no back up. Would not provide protection in advance of it, when the request months prior was put, to have more security. Then they lied about it to the media, who they knew would say whatever they wanted them to without questioning it.

It speaks to the hate some of the people in our country have for law and order, as well as for respect for those who serve... be it law enforcement or military. Makes me sick. At least it is Trump in the White House and not 0'dummy. I think, like you do, Trump can and hopefully will pardon him.

“The guy has been in [the Navy] 20 years, eight combat tours,” he said. “They are going to say [that] in 10 years when you need to go to the VA, you can’t do that anymore. That is what they are holding over us now. All we want to do is retire peacefully [and] let Eddie and his family do what they have earned – live a normal life.”

“I think that the president has been brilliant in this. He has seen so much similarity in what he’s gone through. I think that’s why he’s been so proactive,” she said. “I think my husband has been villainized, he’s been smeared, lied about. And his own command has been consistently betraying him over this process.
