Well, this is a bit skewed, and the reason is, it doesn't factor in the quality of application and installation. EX: Goodman really isn't bad anymore (they used to suck badly), but they tend to sell to anyone, regardless of license or qualification, and installation quality is at least as important as the brand you choose.
Always find a good contractor, regardless of what brand you prefer. Most brands are pretty decent if they are sized and installed properly. Personally, I like Trane/American standard (same) and Rheem/RUUD (same). For a budget brand, Armstrong is very good. They are Lennox owned, but produced independently, and they actually have a better reliability than Lennox.
