Millennials’ DIY Skills Are “Pathetic”

Well, I can do a few things around the house but I never learned how to do all the cool stuff that GD can. I have learned a few things from him over the years and want to learn more but honestly I am scared to totally mess something up and hear the "I told you this would happen" comments from the wife and/or kids.

But you know you better run when your phone rings and the first thing you hear from the other person is, "Hey there buddy ole pal..."

One of the other reasons is they don’t teach shop in high school like they did when
we were there. Our shop class taught everything from wood working to welding.
I guess now it would be a problem if someone got hurt. I can see the lawyers making
a fortune. Our son took a auto class in high school, and it was taught by a English teacher.
She didn’t even know how to change her oil.

When our kids went to high school, I heard the reason they got rid of shop was because of 'Zero Tolerance',,, too many tools could be used as a weapon! Insanity!!!

Yeah, we had a run in or two over the zero tolerance rules.

The one that really ticked me off...long story, but we took in a neighbor girl for two years while her mother was a guest of Douglas County (another story. We had temporary custody of her, so we were her parents for two years. The girl was kind off sick one day, but she wanted to go on to school becaus she had an important test. My wife, without thinking, gave her two Advil to put in her purse. She got caught taking the Advil and got a 3-day suspension. We went in and talked to the vice principal, but he claimed that he had no leeway with the zero tolerance stuff. Utter stupidity!

Yeah, they wouldn't let my daughter keep her Epi-pen with her, nor any headache remedies and sometimes they couldn't have cough drops. Prescription drugs were such a nightmare we didn't even bother with them during school hours!

I had several discussion with school officials when my daughter was still there. I always reminded them that I am the parent and I make the decisions regarding my daughter, not them.

They didn't like me very much.

Millenials get a bad rap, but the ones I know personally are pretty great and have a good head on their shoulders.

You'll love this (not!)

The Republican governor of Vermont signed legislation this week which makes it legal for minors to obtain an abortion without parental consent. Vermont law also allows non-physicians, including registered nurse practitioners, to perform abortions. To put in perspective how radical the state's abortion standards are, consider that parents have to give their child written or verbal permission to obtain so much as an ibuprofen pill from the school nurse, but do not have to approve of their daughter's obtaining a life-altering decision like abortion under GOP Gov. Phil Scott's new law.

Not that I want to send this thread off track...
However if one googled and read up on one of the income streams of PP (see pic above)...
They would be shocked: PP makes a decent amount of $$$ harvesting organs from aborted tissue and selling it.

Not gonna go any farther... however our society tolerating that... is a bad sign of where we have gone... :(
