Kinda sad this evening....

Of course I came to work around 2 PM to work on the schedule. I had some paperwork for the guys in the band with me, so I drove by Corner Baptist on Macland since they were playing there tonight. It was the first time I've been where they are and not singing with them.

They were all very nice and came out to shout at me. I kinda stunk. They went back in to do sound checks and I hit the road. I tell you, something like that gets in your blood and it's hard to set it aside for a while. The guys of Zion are some real great guys and I still encourage you to see them if you have the chance. I hope to have the opportunity to join them again...

:'(

Though not professional, I've been in enough quartets to understand what you're feeling. It definitely gets into your blood.

So who's singing lead with them now?

Josh Lollis. He was singing baritone when we started, but had to step back because of...you got it...his work schedule. Now it's just my turn. He's a good young feller and can almost carry the lead as good as me. :))

He can have it for a little while, but just a little while. ;)

Just for grins and giggles; you and I should see what we sound like together.

I'm willing. We could call the duet, "The Mighty Clouds of Joy Gas" :))

And unfortunately for RNG..."It's closer now, than it's ever been" :))

I feel a parody coming on. Kattie knows about those....so I'll work on it. :laugh

I'm skeered.

Of the parody, or the thong?

If you don't know the original song, the parody won't mean much, but here goes...

Sang to the tune of "Goodbye World, Goodbye"

"Goodbye Thong, Goodbye

"The deacons had all asked me why...I flew on that plane in the sky..
Way down to the beach, and made women screech...I just couldn't stand there and lie.
It was hot on that Florida day....and I thought it would be okay...If I wore my thong, I guess I was wrong..
Goodbye thong, goodbye...

Now don't you scream when you see my thong...for I promise I won't wear it long...
But when I heard the police siren sound....my white thong quickly turned brown....!
I like to ride on my Harley, it's neat....but in the summer I stick to the seat....
Why are they so mad, it don't look half bad,
Goodbye thong, goodbye... :))

Now, if only I could get Hovie Lister to sing it...
