Turner had a great idea, 24 hour news. It seems to have run it's course due to poor management and holding onto "reporters" who are not professional, and are no more than propaganda spreaders.

It seemed like a good idea, but the real result is the near destruction of journalism. "News" is now a business that must be profitable, and to attract the bucks, real journalism has been replaced with talking points and entertainment.

I remember being in Singapore in the 90's and at least the hotel had CNN, so you could get a little glimpse of what was going on in the world ... in English. I think the other English speaking channel showed Cricket... really odd,
Filling 24 hours of programing then became about the one hour news shows with distinct personalities... and just as power corrupts politicians, the same seems to occur with TV personalities who figure out that they have the power to influence what the people of the Nation believe, based on biased propaganda news... And they have never looked back... except refreshingly the Cuomo brothers finally got knocked off their corrupt pedestal - at least for now.
As we see... neither has any remorse or self awareness, just like a bad mob boss... they will kill everything to regain power.
I was thinking @cptlo should buy it.
