IRS sending out $2.4 billion worth of stimulus checks: Are you eligible to receive one?

The IRS announced eligible U.S. taxpayers who did not claim the Recovery Rebate Credit on their 2021 tax return are in line to receive a stimulus check.

  • Eligible taxpayers do not need to take any action to receive the payment, as the IRS will automatically send it.

So I guess this is what the IRS is busy doing rather than sending me my mom's refund from 2023. Grrrrr.....

We're still waiting for my dad's refund. It's been three years now. They lost it once and they had my brother fax another copy. They said the wouild "fast-track" it. That was a year ago.

I've gotten to the agents, but most of them just tell me I'm not on the access list for that account, even though I attached the executor papers to the requests. I've now sent more forms with more copies of the papers.

Will see what happens.
 
Hmmm....looks like I didn't claim it. I wonder how much it'll be.

  • Income thresholds changed. The credit amount begins to be reduced at the same income thresholds as the 2020 Recovery Rebate Credits, for example with adjusted gross income of more than $75,000 if filing as single or $150,000 if filing as married filing jointly. However, the 2021 Recovery Rebate Credit amount is fully reduced to $0 more quickly. For example, individuals can't claim any credit with adjusted gross income of $80,000 or more if filing as single or $160,000 or more for if filing as married filing jointly. Due to these new income limitations, some individuals won't be eligible to claim the 2021 Recovery Rebate Credit even if they received a 2020 stimulus payment.
