Yesterday, Mustangsallie and I drove to Ooltewah to my former Battalion Commander's home for a BBQ. About 15 minutes from Elijay, I noticed my warning light for tire pressure was on. I stopped to get gas, checked the air pressure in all my tires to find my front driver side tire was low on air. I put more air in it and off we went.
As we approached Dalton, the light was on again so I stopped to check the tire pressure in that tire and found it was as low as it was earlier. I figured I had a slow leak and drove it to the car center of a nearby Walmart. Sure enough, there was a nail in the tread of the tire and they fixed it for me. It made us late, but I'd rather be a little late than a lot late because the tire went flat. It was better to stop and get it fixed than end up having a flat tire a little later and having to put the spare on and then figure out where I was going to get the tire fixed on a holiday. It's never a good idea to drive with the small little spare on for long distances.
