If Ahmaud Arbery’s family doesn’t have peace, community won’t have peace, BLM protesters say

OK, I haven't been able to keep up with the trial, but when the news first came out I was of the opinion that this guy was needlessly killed by some rednecks. So unless the trial brought out some solid evidence to the contrary, I'm with Arbery on this one.

But this whole notion that any time something doesn't go the way a group wants makes it OK to riot and loot has to stop. We are guaranteed the right of peaceful assembly in this nation, but that does not include burning cities and hurting people.

This crap has to stop. It is not OK to riot and loot, and it's NOT alright for BLM to encourage this kind of behavior. All it will do is to get more people killed.

Ditto...I haven't been following it much either. This case is definitely more likely to cause protests if they are found not guilty. Granted, protests or not shouldn't factor into the jury's decision.

I haven't followed the case either. From what I originally heard, The guys did vigilante justice. But after the Kyle Rittenhouse case... maybe there was more to it.

Peaceful assembly needs to be enforced by our leaders by means of law enforcement, national guard, or our military. Until our leaders enforce the laws, and support the police in rounding up the rioters that burn cities down, it will be mob rule, we will not be safe, and more regular citizens will be forced to go out and protect their town with guns. Perpetuating this whole cycle.

I don't know why but this makes me think of when I was a kid living in Alabama. The neighborhood kids would all meet up and "trespass" on a gravel and sand yard which was just on the other side of the woods. We loved "walking the edges" of the huge sand walls in an attempt to see who could go the farthest before it collapsed and we fall several feet. We'd also race up the gravel mounds to see who could reach the top first. The workers didn't like it and would physically chase us away to the wood line. The knew once we reached the woods they'd never catch us. On one occasion I tripped and fell as I jumped over a ditch, of course the worker grabbed my coat and took me back to the yard where the other workers circled around me and "got on to me harshly." I honestly thought I was about to be murdered, it stuck with me a very long time and I never returned. Looking back now I know they were just concerned one of us would be buried in the sand or gravel and didn't want the liability of an incident.

I didn't see any other outcome for this one.

My only gripe is that some of the media tried to make Arbery out to be a saint, which he was far from. But, that didn't make it alright to kill the guy.

I think Mr. William Bryan regrets not destroying his cell phone...no cell phone = no case...period... So there's a lesson for us all...destroy your cell phone if you witness a crime.
