I guess now we're not going back to Hawaii either

Come on now, the heavily armored hose truck is in full view. I love one if the comments, "Looks like an ROTC unit."

What I found about it is that it's actually a "legit" declaration from a self-proclaimed group pushing their independence. In other words, a local militia. The first link listed shows their "leader."

I'm sure in their mind it's a just cause. The problem with just causes is that they need traction to gain support and legitimacy. They need to get back in their hose truck and get back to work. Lunch break is over.

The Hawaiians hate Haoles, Hawaiian slang for foreigner... they wanted to be under the British Monarchy, but got stuck with the USA.

Many Hawaiians want to go back to living off the land and get rid of all non Hawaiians. Take back the aina -land.

Native Hawaiians:
Land is not a commodity to be exploited, it is a relative that is respected and cared for and, who, in turn, cares for us. Mālama ʻāina expresses our kuleana to care for the land and to properly manage the resources and gifts it provides. Aloha ʻāina expresses our love for this land and beyond that, our love of country – the sovereign nation stolen away but ever in our hearts.

They like that tourist dollar though.
They like the welfare too ...

Very hard to run a business as the people have no incentive to work unless they are paid under the table so that they don't lose their welfare benefits.

Hawaii’s welfare recipients receive benefits equal to more than four times what an average employee earning minimum wage can earn. Several recent studies have indicated that the state provides the country’s most generous public assistance packages.

A new report by Cato Institute, which examines the state-by-state value of welfare for a mother of two, said benefits in Hawaii average $49,175 — tops in the nation.

Michael Tanner, co-author of the Cato study, said that since welfare isn’t taxed, a person would have to earn $60,590 in Hawaii to take home the same $49,175 a person on welfare would.

The cost of living is extremely high there. When my son was stationed there from 2006-2009, his rent was $2400 month for a two-bedroom house. Milk was $4 a gallon.

I watched one of the home shows (like This Old House, etc) that was on location in Hawaii awhile back. They don't have a lot of natural resources, so almost everything has to be brought in by air or sea. Lumber and building materials were crazy high!

Call up Robin Masters and see if he has an opening for another onsite security guy job. Live there for free and you get to drive awesome cars too!

Disclaimer: I was watching an episode of Magnum P.I. earlier tonight. :D

Yep... my son and DIL just moved to the mainland. They had a sweet 5 bedroom 3 bath house Big Island, Kona side for only $2300... but everything in life was expensive.

They saw the point that they may not be able to fly off the island if vaccine passports were enacted for air travel. Hawaii has always been the Socialist Republic of Hawaii ... Hawaii had more lockdown and mask mandates than California. They paid too much of their paycheck in taxes to support those who don't work on Island.

They want to travel the USA and decide where to land next ... working on converting a large bus to tour America.

My DIL is from Europe, the people in Hawaii were not very kind to her because of her Swiss/ French/ German /Italian accent and light blond features. She was ready to leave after 7 years. Her goal is to buy land in Florida... she loves De Santos.
