I don\'t mean to be insensitive but........

Stunt Driver
How many times do we have to hear about the 911 call for Demi Moore on the news? I heard it last night on the national news and thought she must have died with everyone making such a fuss about it. I understand TMZ focusing on this issue as evidently, that is what they do and that is (shiver....) the kind of things they find interesting. (Where is the pukey emoticon to insert here). :)

So she was having a party at her house, inhaled nitrous oxide and smoked "something" and lapsed into unconciousness. I actually think she is a decent actress and I hope she gets the help she needs but I am just amazed that such an ignorant lack of good judgment on her part would draw such attention.

And yes, before anyone says anything, I realize I am just drawing more attention to this by posting this. :hiya Just curious if anyone out there besides myself heard the news reports last night and thought she must have died.

I do know that she has sought help for substance abuse in the past. This relapse doesn't bode well for her. I actually wish her the best. What I can't believe is all the people blaming Ashton for it. Heck he wasn't even in the country, and she is old enough to be responsible for her own actions.

I do think it must have been a slow news day though.

I just flip the channel when I get tired of hearing it over and over, the latest is Paula Deen, and the gym ad. I really think they crossed the line. I feel sorry for Demi if it is true that Ash cheated on her, on their anniversary. That is really low.

I don't really just sit down and watch TV - I listen to it in passing and listen to whichever channel is on, which happened to be the national news last night as well as this morning. I am sorry for Demi also but I truly hope she gets the help she needs. I agree with Lots do Do - she is grown woman and should be able to make better decisions, regardless of what has gone on with Ashton Kutcher.

I liked her movies and it makes me sad to see how far she has fallen. This is her personal burden and I think the news media should back off and leave her and her family alone. :tapfoot2

A lot of people like her and she had a clear image lately ... add the mess with Ashton to it and, generally speaking, people are interested in anything to do with her. I don't personally give a rat's backside but I at least understand where it comes from.

I'm the same, BB. I always have the TV on to drown the noise from outside so Charlie won't bark LOL But I keep hearing about it, too. I'm sad to say, I just don't care, lol. I don't care what stars are doing most of the time. I just don't know why it's so important.

I'll go you one better. I wouldn't be a BIT surprised if this whole thing wasn't a PR stunt. I mean, they sure are getting a LOT LOT LOT of media coverage about it, and those PR people know how to play things Just Right. Don't tell me the Kardashian PR people don't furnish the tabloids with the schedule of who's going to be where with whom so photographers can be there to get photographs. Pay attention to who's in the tabloids all the time. LeeAnn Rimes has been in there DAILY since she and that skeezy-looking Cibrian fellow hooked up. Really? The masses are obsessed with what LeeAnn Rimes is doing? I think not. I think she has a PR team that furnishes daily schedules - if not the pics outright - to the tabloids. Everybody wins. So back to Demi - maybe she really did accidentally do herself a harm. It just seems a LITTLE contrived (esp. that 911 call...I've never heard such calm voices, and how many people were there, anyway?) and opportunistic. Perhaps since she split with Kutcher she wants to kick-start her career. Who knows. Like I said...maybe it's real. If so, I hope she gets help. But I would not be ONE BIT surprised if it's all just a big show. Saith the cynic.

Funny you should go there, ML ... there are more and more people suspecting that Heidi Klum and Seal aren't really getting a divorce and the whole thing was a publicity stunt to try to drum up more sales for his new album.

Yeah, funny how they're both still wearing their wedding rings, and he's on multiple talk shows to talk about hos pain over the whole thing. I'm telling you - that Hollyweird crowd is GOOD when it comes to manipulating appearances to benefit them.

The best thing that could happen to these "famous" people is to have to work hard for a living for a few years. I don't have a problem with folks being rich, but without hard work, the money and fame and lack of something constructive to do can only lead to self distruction.

Rickey Gervais once said that this is precisely why so many actors are liberals. He said that they are ashamed of their money, and as a result, yours too. He said that it was from personal experience and talking to others in the business that he realized this. One day he was a struggling writer/actor, and the next a gazillionaire with paparazzi all over him. He didn't understand it, because to his mind he had done nothing different to deserve the wealth and adoration. He said that he felt compelled to give it away as undeserved. He also said that he outgrew that impulse. (He does support many animal rights groups, but he no longer feels like he need be a pauper). He doesn't discuss his present politics however.

Leave Demi alone!!

I'm going to be completely insensitive and say that I haven't even heard the call the first time and I'm not planning on listening to it. I don't even know why they think that it's news....
