Kat's senior year was full of tears. That was in '04. There have been a few more tears since... Tomorrow is my BEAUTIFUL grand's 2nd birthday! I will cry yet again. Kids have a way of keeping you laughing and crying. They are our joy in life.

RNG, SD and whomever else has the graduating child... best wishes for your children! I will bring a bottle to the crying party if I can come. :suntn

Lawd, now that I am not using my iphone to view this site I can see who you are... How the heck have you been?

It is hard to believe it has been 2 years.. Time flies

LOL! I have been great and I just like to leave y'all guessing. I certainly don't try to hide it. Really funny when you have a  moment, huh?!?!?

I see y'all are going thru a bit of irritation but glad you are sailing thru. :hug

irritation is a nice word for it. It is all good though. I was super stressed there over some things for awhile and I am now choosing not to let it take ahold of me.

I just know never to do BIG business with friends anymore

OK-Since we're blubbering over our kids, my daughter graduates from KSU Cole's School of Business next week.
That does not count towards blubbering! That is an awesome cry. College, marriage, kids...you or they gain something from it. The graduation from HS is the END of their childhood! :'( You already got through that, gained a son, daughter has a career, and now hopefully grandkids...see ALL gains!

She's still deciding which career path to take; but as for the rest, yes I'm very happy about it. Still, a certain nostalgic sadness to see your baby grow up.

Ah heck. Mine are still in 3rd and 6th grade and I cry over silly things all the time. At the last HS football game, I was crying with my friends who had seniors in the band and cheerleading. :))

yep I was crying there to! When babygirl threw her flag up and stopped with her pose at the end of the performance I lost it!

I sooooo remember this final year in that chapter of my youngest's life. It was hard with the other two but the baby is the one that really got me. He was in marching band all four years so we had developed some strong ties with so many other families. I still miss them. I boohooed at the drop of a hat!! He was so ready to get it over with, he just didn't understand. LOL

The next chapter is awesome, just wait and see.

In 25 days my babygirl will be graduating. I never in a million years imagined it would hit me like this. I have cried off and on about it all school year long. But as it is getting closer I can just feel the tears ready to burst at any moment. I know most of them will be happy tears, proud tears but I know there will be some that makes me sad to realize my baby girl is grown up. SD and I can cry together ;D

What will really hit me hard is when I drive off from where she is going to college and leave her there. That is gonna be tough!

ok off my pity party now.. :laugh

Congratulations to your daughter and to you! Sounds like you have raised some wonderful children and you should be very proud.

It really is okay to cry - I did it at my children's high school and college graduations to the point I had to wear sunglasses. :) It is a new phase of your child's life and while you are sad to see one phase end, it is a good thing to see another phase begin. Our children will always be our children.

Best wishes to your daughter as she enters this new phase of life. Sounds like she has a good head on her shoulders and that she will be fine! Kudos to you for a job well done!

ok now I'm crying again! You guys are so sweet! thank you Beach Bum for those kind words!! I am very proud of my baby girl!

Naturegirl, my son looked at me last night at my daughters final chorus concert and he said, mom you won't be this way when I'm getting ready to graduate..I said son, you are my baby I will probably need to be admitted to a crazy bin somewhere cause I'll be so distraught that you are grown up and finishing high school. When he graduates, I will be dealing with him graduating high school and daughter graduating college all in the same year! I'll be nuts! lol

NG, my daughter just doesn't understand either..she just rolls those big blue eyes at me everytime I tear up. First question out of her mouth last night when the concert was over was, Mom seriously? you cried? :laugh

Somewhere in the next 4 or 5 years they actually grow up. He graduated with a dual diploma and was accepted into the Honor's Dorm at West Georiga. His first year in college was a complete disaster, he didn't want to go to West Georgia and I didn't want him to go to Georgia State. I won the battle but he won the war, sort of. Lost all his scholarship money because he just never went to class. Got a job after that debacle making just a little over minimum wage. Somehow that light bulb went off after three years. He could make three time as much as he was getting paid if he had that piece of paper. So after working hard and saving his money he's returned to school getting his core classes at Chattahoochee Tech and taking only classes that he can transfer to Kennesaw.

Not every child is gonna flunk out their first year of college (Lord I was mad) but somewhere in all that he really did become a responsible young adult. Whew!!
