How about some things that Republicans can agree on?

Yucca nuclear waste disposal facility. The government spent $15 billion to study and develop it, it's been approved by everyone from the USGS to the NRC, the power companies have paid the government $30 billion to take waste that still sits on power company properties around the nation, there is $120 million in Trump's budget to restart the regulatory process.

Lets get on this yesterday. Executive order that mother.

So what do y'all have?

what about sending people to the moon again? I thought I read that Trump signed an order for a huge amount of money spent on this mission by 2020?
my brother thinks going to the moom is one of the most important things for Americans. ????
I'm like man, we need to get Earth straightened out.
I may be totally wrong but I don't understand why we are trying to spend so much going to the Moon, are we going to live there in future where we can't breathe without a suit on?
Would freak me out. You couldn't pay me money to go to the moon. There would not be enough sedatives for that.

An argument could be made that the technology gained by such a mission would be worth the investment. It probably was when we did it the first time.

Just a thought, I dunno.

I've always believed cutting the space program was a big mistake. Maybe it's the Trekkie in me, but I've also always thought that getting together and helping each other explore our galaxy might lead to peace at home.

I don't know about men to the moon again, but manned space exploration is a worthy goal. I thin we can cooperate with space-x and others this time on things like mars trips and Terraforming work. We might just need the silver seed some day.

I'm not sure what benefit, if any there would be to send men to the moon again either. Space exploration does sound appealing, but is it really feasible using humans?

Certainly a lot can be achieved robotically, but sometimes the only way to find out how practical something is , is to do it. If we are seriously about colonizing or taking generational trips, we need to be out there.

humans are probably less expensive than robots or other tech devices. Like surgery. Who wants robotic surgery ? well it costs like crazy and I personally prefer a person.

I suppose I'm an old fashioned selfish conservative....I see no rational need to spend millions (or billions) on space exploration when we waste so much on crap here on Earth and can't get it right half the time. How about baby steps....let's master weather forecasting and then go from there. How about being able to give a full week's forecast and get it right more than 50% of the time....consistently. Until we can do that we have no business in outer space.

That's why I think Space-X and others can lead here. Government can provide research, which seems to be the only thing they are as good at as the private sector. We do learn a lot from space exploration, and we do know that the earth will be destroyed by a meteor some day, so knowing how to work out there and live out there may be more of a priority than we realize. It won't be tomorrow, but there will come a time when we will have to pick a place and move. Technology and knowledge will be all we have.

I do find the left's "feed the hungry or go to Mars" a false choice. We don't absolutely need government for either, and we can do both, but if I had to pick one that government does better than the other, I would bet on Mars.

I'll take a stab at it. Border security, welfare reform, foreign tariff equity, tax reform, education reform, North Korea, ISIS, infrastructure repair, tort reform, prosecution of sanctuary cities, local control over local issues, elimination of earmarks, appointment of SCOTUS members, military support, LEO support, carry rights, judicial reform and on and on. I am a Conservative not a Republican. I vote mainly GOP because they are closer in line to what I believe. I currently give Congress a D- maybe even an F and the executive a C (only because it is early in his term). These people are a dismal failure and daily put politics ahead of country. Quit tweeting, quit worrying about votes, quit pandering to lobbyist and do your freaking job.
