Holiday Weekend!

The Sound Guy

Pursuit Driver
I'll kick it off since my work gave us Wed - Sun off for the holiday.

Wed: Worked on the Deck/Fence Project and trimmed the bushes that had gone crazy with this rain.
Thurs: Worked on the Deck/Fence Project - Went to lunch with the wife and the Grocery store, then to HD a little while ago to get my stuff for the weekend before the crowds settle in.
Friday: Work on the Deck /fence Project in the morning, help with the food share and Friday Night Fire at church afternoon and evening.
Sat: Both sets of parents will be over for a cookout in the afternoon. Then relax some more. I have enough project work. It's HOT out there!
Sun: Church, then chores as I feel like doing.

Tonight - we are heading to the mall to see what is actually open. We will grab dinner somewhere.

Friday - Sleep in, maybe go to the pool, something relaxing

Saturday - Sleep in, relax, do whatever

Sunday - AM Church, lunch and chill

Thanks, I forgot about it.

Our office is closed tomorrow, but some of the service guys are on call, and we've been crazy busy, so my phone will probably ring like crazy.

Oh and...

Friday - Date night with "She who adores me"

Saturday - Sleep in, then chores

Sunday - Gotta do both services cause singing in an ensemble, then chill.

Built and mounted the large barn doors. They'll get paint tomorrow.

Whew, hot out there!

We went to Augusta and Ft. Gordon Friday. We stopped by the Augusta mall where most stores were requiring everyone to wear a mask, but in the common areas people didn't have to. Every building you went into at Ft. Gordon required a mask to be worn. While at Gordon, we went to the PX and I bought my wife a Canon Rebel T7 camera that came with two lenses and a bag for $449; plus we didn't have to pay sales tax. The camera kit was $50 cheaper than most places and with no sales tax we saved a total of $81.43.

I had to work Saturday and now today. I'm off Monday and if rain isn't in the forecast for the next few days, I can finish staining the decks.

I haven’t been to Ft Gordon since 1984. Dang time sure does fly by fast.

My Dad was stationed there from '69-'73 when he retired. They were building the new hospital at the time we left. The old hospital in use was built during WWII and was all one level spread out over acres and acres of land across the road from the PX. The old hospital is just a big open field now. When I got back there in 2002, there was a new PX and a new commissary. The old PX complex is now used for offices. They have renovated the barracks at the Signal School. It's the same buildings, but they added peaked metal roofs and covered walkways going around the first and second floors. The were also renovated to two-man rooms each with a bathroom. Each room has its own door to the outer walkways.

Hey Guard Dad,,, here's something you might replicate at your next 4th of July picnic.
Volunteer Firemen,,, note where they got the barrel!

Glad they didn't spray each other at that close distance. Truthfully it would be tempting but probably not wise.
