I wear the Playtex 18-hour bra. My mother got me one awhile back, and I was totally surprised at how much I like it. I'm not flat-chested even when I am at my ideal weight (which it pains me to say I am nothing close to right now, but I am working on recovering from the decade from hades, and this year is going to be better!). Anyhoo, I need support, and it's got good support, a wide strap at the back, and wider straps.

Has anybody tried those really expensive stores where they custom fit (for lack of a better term) bras for you? I don't really see spending the money, but I don't know of anyone who's purchased anything from a place like that.

I go to Phipps. I would never ever go and get a bra anywhere else ever again. They are awesome and will make adjustments for free. I have never had a bra that is perfect. I mean perfect. Our bodies are not always symmetrical and they make it work. I have 3 friends that now go too and they would not change either.

My bestie had that done at home high falootin store in Perimeter Mall. (Can I say "bestie" when I'm like 45 yrs old? LOL)
She said she felt liberated. I didn't have the heart to ask what she felt liberated from. LOL

I could deal with Phipps. How many bras do you purchase in say, a year? I mean, if you're not splurging, etc.
 
I just checked the site briefly and everything I was was between $50 and $200. IF they're as perfect as you say, and they are long-lasting (reasonably so, anyway), I might could go for it at some point.

I kid you not, I was floored at the difference! My gf is was having back issues and I convinced her to go and she does not anymore.
I usually buy two at a time and go two to three times a year. I take good care of them and they are all in very good shape. For the fru fru ones I get the less expensive ones and the everyday black, white, nude I go a bit higher.
They do run sales occasionally and that is the best time to get in!

I will give this some serious thought. I don't need any right now, but perhaps in spring I will pay them a visit. Thank you for the great info! And yes, I would do the same vis a vis fru-fru and everyday ones.

No problem! It is not cheap and I know it is hard for some to spend the money, but once you get a good bra you never go back. LOL
