I'm not rendering an opinion on this one yet. While the video looks kinda bad, it appears that the cops were at least trying to follow their orders, and there is some indication that the guy wasn't acting as peacefully as the media first indicated.

Buffalo cops caught on video pushing 75-year-old to the ground plead not guilty

Two Buffalo police officers have pleaded not guilty to assault after they were caught on camera shoving a 75-year-old man to the ground during George Floyd protests in the New York city.

I read that he was a known activist. I’m over trying to figure out which side is bad guy. If LE tells you to do something and you don’t then you’re probably overdue for an attitude adjustment (aka a nice solid throat punch). If there’s a rogue officer then that’s the responsibility of fellow officers and police chiefs to weed out.

I saw it yesterday and there was no reason to shove him backward... this is the whole problem. Arrest someone. Put them in the car and cart them off. Quit pushing, touching, and holding people down on the pavement... it is poor policing or policy.

He is a known activist, I am sure they all knew and hated him... but it is not their job to sentence him to death without a trial. Cuff him and escort him off for sentencing and a trial- do NOT shove him.

After he is shoved, he stumbles backward as his feet at 75 can't get under him to prevent the fall. As his head hits the pavement, the sound is horrifying. Really gross to hear. Then a few police start to go help him as he lies lifeless, but the others hold them back. No assistance is given as blood drips out his ear.

Apparently I’m just not good at being politically correct. I feel if you look for trouble and interaction with LE then you’re probably going to find it. Eventually we’ll be back in the Wild West days when there are no more police officers.

I've seen three different angles of it. It was way out of line. He walked up and said something to the officers just as they were moving forward. The force of the push wasn't a move out of the way, it was to put him on his ass. He's a 70 year old man. The protester they arrest in the clip wasn't manhandled like this old man.

End qualified immunity.
