Gun sales up 80% in major swing states

This will come as no surprise to most of us, we've discussed it before.

But what does it mean for the election? First thought is that it's a result of people responding to the increased violence and the threat from the Dems to take our guns.

But when I was at the gun store, I noticed a lot of black men buying guns. Now, that doesn't necessarily mean anything, a lot of them are leaving the Democrats, it seems. But at the same time, they still mostly vote Democrat. So I don't know how to read it.

Any thoughts on this?

Gun sales are way up and bulk ammo is getting harder to come by... I'd say things are looking better for Trump than the media is stating. They're all gloom and doom and blah blah blah...the biggest concern to mainstream folks are the economy and crime waves.

I still say something is going on with ammo. In a free market, the supply would quickly rise to meed demand. Where's there's money to be made, private enterprise will find a way unless something is blocking them.

Look at masks and hand sanitizer. The Woohan caused a dramatically higher demand, and there was a very temporary shortage. Now look, it's everywhere. The market rose to the occasion.

Who or what is standing in the way of ammo production?

It’s flying off the shelves as fast as they can stock it. There’s plenty of odd size ammo but 9mm, 40mm, and 45mm are hard to find.

Understood. But it's been that way for awhile, why hasn't the market caught up by now?

If there's a dollar to be made, free enterprise will rise to meet the demand.

If they are not, there is a reason.

I want to know that reason.

I do think the pandemic has something to do with the shortages. I have been looking for a chest freezer. Nobody has them. Earlier this month, I ordered a new washer and it was supposed to be delivered Wednesday. Tuesday morning I get a robocall saying it now wouldn't be delivered until October 14th. I called the store and they told me I would be very lucky to receive it in October. The guy told me they have refrigerators sold in July that now won't be delivered until December.

I did some checking. Read this.

And this.
.

Most manufacturers plan how many pieces of product they are going to produce well ahead based upon previous sales. They use these projections when they order the supplies and materials needed for production. If sales increase significantly as they have this year for appliances, guns, and ammo; there's going to be a shortage because their productions plans fall short of the significant increase in sales. Vendors for manufacturers plan the same way. Now you know why there is a shortage in ammo. None of the manufacturers expected the demand for these products to increase as greatly as they have this year.

I'm still waiting for a fuel pump for my truck, not expected to arrive until October.

The demand could be based on numerous causes most of which tie into the political scene in the country. Some folks are worried about rioting and crime. Especially now that many cities have refused to address the culprits and enforce the law. Racial tension is another concern people have. The MSM bombards people every hour with negative views of how terrible this white fascist country is with a white supremacist as the POTUS. Other folks may be concerned if Uncle Joe gets elected that guns will be even harder to acquire legally. I say legally because all the restrictions on earth will not keep criminals from getting guns. I think the trend shows unrest and uncertainty about the future of the nation. If the shite hits the fan it could get really ugly with lots of armed vigilantes using unrest as an excuse to pillage as they please. I do not want to use deadly force against anyone but have no doubt I will defend my family and property if necessary.

The events taking place today have drastically driven gun and ammo sales up. I think many law abiding citizens are buying more guns and ammo expecting things to get much worse and are preparing to defend themselves. I won't be surprised to see more and more rioting occurring as time goes on. What's really disgusting about all of this is the Democrats are not taking a strong position of condemning the rioting. If they were really concerned with the safety of the people, they would be taking the necessary measures to stop it.

Get this..... The TrophyWife took a new job back in January. The offer included a company car. Cool, right?

The vehicle: A 2020 GMC SUV. Cool, right?

She ordered her vehicle in February.

Simple... a red 2020 GMC SUV

It's now almost October and guess what? .... she's still waiting for delivery.

The 2021 models are now out & they can't deliver a 2020?

It's not like the vehicle is built on Mars and we're waiting for the spaceship to arrive with the GMC in tow.

Stupid Ol' GMC

I could get an OEM fuel pump myself but I'd have to pay for it. The truck runs fine other than an occasional delay in starting. It doesn't bother me bad enough to cough up cash to pay for it when the part and labor is covered under warranty. I'll wait.
