Gov. DeSantis signs bill banning sale of ‘lab-grown meat’ in Florida

Why should the state have the ability to ban a product as long as that product haven't been determined to cause harm? Let the free market decide if people want to eat 'lab grown' meat. Maybe the law should have simply mandated food labels to make it clear where the 'meat' came from instead of banning it.

Other than the assertion it's actually worse for the environment than cow farts (but not J-Man farts), I tend to agree with you.

I suspect this is more about making a political statement, which DeSantis is known to do at times..

The lab grown meat industry seems to be failing on it's own. Like so many other things the left wants, people are rejecting it.

The production costs of lab-grown meat are high. The production cost runs $17-$21 a pound. We could end up with a government that bans natural beef to force people to buy lab-grown beef. Such legislation could also call for 95% of the cattle population to be exterminated to reduce methane gas from being emitted into the air. Don't be surprised if they do it for other meat sources as well.

Next thing you know, people will be forced to eat Soylent Green because it's cheaper.
