Republicans appear to have pulled out another Senate victory, giving them at least 53 seats in the chamber, after The Associated Press called the Alaska race early Wednesday for the Republican challenger, Dan Sullivan, over the Democratic incumbent, Senator Mark Begich.

Bernie Sanders and Angus King are both caucusing with the Democrats even though King hinted at changing parties if there was a choice committee position in it for him. There wasn't, and he didn't. So the actual effective count is 53 to 47.

IF Landrieu were to lose on Dec. 6, it would move to 54/46. I'm hearing lots of Dem money isn't supporting her for the run-off. I wonder if they know it's a lost cause?

Landrieu is the poster child for the dems moving to the left. She can be dismissed now.
